Clients with perfect credit, income, down payment, etc.
Put through the ringer while trying to buy their first home. The latest (home has not yet closed) is that they asked for the parents to prove they are related to their daughter. This is after they did a background check on the parents for giving the daughter a partial gift for the down payment.
The inaccurate statements (won't say lies), and broken promises are the worst I've seen in my 23 years in real estate.
Lesson learned: ALWAYS work with a local lender you can look in the eyes and who has their underwriter and processor in the same location.
